Pro Staff - Don Watts and his partner bagged a 25.27lb single day
18 Jul, 2017Don Watts and his partner bagged a 25.27lb single day basket in a tournament on Fremont Lake up in Michigan this past weekend. According to Don, there hasn't been any tournament baskets brought in like this for over 30 years. Now we cant prove that, however Don fishes tournaments almost every weekend and by far is the most successful check cashing Michigan Bass Anglers around. Caught on the Okuma TCS Power Cranking rod with a CI-273LXa reel. Great win for Don and for teamokumamidwest

Event - 2017 Okuma Deadeye Challenge
28 Jun, 2017Reports are in from this year’s Okuma Deadeye Challenge up in Michigan. With 44 teams and 132 anglers, this was the biggest turnout yet!Here is the recap directly from the tournament director."For the 2017 Okuma Dead Eye challenge, we had a respectable turnout of 44 Teams. This was impressive given the fact that we also had a MWT event happening North of us a couple hours on Houghton Lake. With all 44 teams counted we had angler support of 132 anglers that actually fished the tournament. The weather cooperated beautifully for the event and we had some incredible weights this year. Heaviest weights in the tournament history in fact. 1st place team weighed in 35.11 pounds to win the event. The big fish pot was won with a 8.60lb fish. We weighed in a total of 668lbs of Walleyes! This didn't include the bonus whitefish we were all catching. As in years past, this tournament raises money to help a different charity every year and with the money raised this year, we were able to donate $890 to the Elkton park for some much needed renovation. Another $470 was donated to a local transportation organization that provides free transportation to Senior Citizens needing rides to various clinics, stores or even the park if they would like. We also had an interactive kids fishing seminar put on by the NPAA (National Pro Anglers Association) that awarded kids with a rod n reel combo at the end of the fishing tutorial. 02 Jun, 2017ProStaffer Crow wrote in On a recent trip to the Famous South Pier and after hearing stories of other’s being under gunned. I took the bigger gear an 11ft #Sensation Caspian rod with an Okuma Trio Rex salt reel spooled with 50lb braid.I fished with heavy jig heads of 1 oz with paddle tails but no luck. Then I saw a school of scads swimming past so I rigged up a daisy chain with a jig head for weight and let it drop to the bottom. As you can see the result was a small rock cod but the bigger fish where no where to be found….until we fish again.

26 May, 2017RICADI Third edition fishing race The association of friends of the sea for the third consecutive year has organized the fishing race with cane from the beach for young friends of the sea until seventeen years the event was seen at the grotticelle beach in front of the four rocks village as stated by the president Antonio Giuliano the spirit that animated this initiative of healthy competition and has highlighted the importance of living a moment of aggregation among children in contact with nature and in total respect for the environment - the four race commissioners Francesco di bella, Antonio tripods, Nando in the pass, and Nicola Pantano who have passionately witnessed the twenty guys after having carried out the measurement and recording of the fished and immediately released to the sea - the first three classifieds of the omotive race are third ranked Giovanni Pantano , Second ranked Marco of a beautiful first ranked Alex paparato after the awards ceremony at the premises made available to the Owners of the four rocks village, the event was enclosed with a delicious sweet and salty buffet offered by the association. It provided care for the beach both before and after the event - the president thanks the market sponsors Pantano di brivadi, The house of the fisherman of Santa Domenica, the Olympus and thank all the people who in various ways have collaborated to the success of the event
