Reach for the max
Okuma's Makaira spinning reels ate in a class of their own featuring a forged stainless, machined MAXGEAR®
. While most reels in this category feature bronze, aluminum or machine-cut stainless steel gears, Okuma's Makaria spinning steel main gear. We ported the main gear and incorporated other design elements to keep it light weight enough to fish all day. Internally, the pinion gear and heat treated spool shaft are 17-4 grade machine-cut stainless steel. They are rust-proof and optimized to work with brained line and high-output drag. MAXGEAR® reduces vibrations that can potentially frighten your next catch. We made no compromises in the internal design of the MAXGEAR®.
TORSION CONTROL ARMOR®
Dominate with power
Okuma's TORSION CONTROL ARMOR®(TCA™) provides anglers a stronger, more durables design that will leave you feeling satisfied with each and every catch. TCA™ offers maximum protection against twists and turns that can potentially weaken the body of a reel.
The one-piece TCA™ design was built using Okuma C-40X carbon fiber technology and made a double arm design. Compared to traditional single side designs, TCA™'s double arm offers higher torsion and flex resistance under heavy pressure for improved strength. This not only makes the reel lighter but also extremely rigid ensuring the internal parts stay in perfect alignment.
Resistance under pressure
Pulling line through the roller and retrieval increases pressure on your reel's body, creating numerous wear spots. Okuma's double arm TCA™ provides torsion resistance that is 25% stronger than a traditional design.
Strengthen against weak points
While traditional spinning body designs utilized single-side support, Torsion Control Armor® uses a durable double-arm design to help decrease pressure from weak areas and body twisting points.
ULTIMATE FLEX REINFORCEMENT
A tip to catch them all
Anglers will immediately identify the benefits of Okuma's Ultimate Flex Reinforcement (UFR®) technology through light-weight and sensitive rod-tip construction. UFR® technology incorporates three times the strength and lifting power over traditional rods, making it powerful enough to fight the toughest of fish, but sensitive enough to feel the lightest of bites.
Inspired by strength
At Okuma, we are passionate about innovative design. With simplicity at the core of our design process, we strive to make your fishing experience unique. Okuma's patented UFR® manufacturing process is elaborate and complex but extremely simple-to-use. It lets you focus on what matters most - catching more fish.
Strength from within
Okuma's UFR® technology is a breakthrough design in rod strength and sensitivity. Our patented UFR® manufacturing process utilizes an outer layer of longitudinal fibers around the rod blank in the extended tip section. The result is 300% increase in lifting power and a flexible tip increasing durability and protecting against breaks. UFR® tips are tough but sensitive to even the of lightest bites, even when using heavy lures and baits.
TENACITY WITHOUT FATIGUE
Our products are designed to create the ultimate fishing experience with your endurance in mind. What does this mean to anglers? Catch more fish and never give up on your passion. A lightweight rod means less fatigue and a more enjoyable fishing experience. Our UMR™ technology enables you to get the most out of your time fishing without compromising your rod’s strength.
ENHANCED STRENGTH WHERE IT MATTERS
Okuma’s UMR™ technology takes an innovative approach to ensuring rod strength while remaining super lightweight. Every rod has its limitation; however, we’ve identified the weakest points of a rod’s construction—the areas most likely to break under stress on conventional rods—and applied enhanced reinforcement to strengthen these key points to prevent breaking. This enables us to maximize rod strength while minimizing weight to ensure your rod is built for any challenge.
UNIQUE CONNECTION TO NATURE
Carp’s intelligent and sensitive behavior makes for an incomparable fishing experience. These fish require anglers to truly understand and admire their catch. At Okuma, we aim to help carp anglers enjoy this unique connection to nature.
CRAFTED BY EXPERIENCE
We have decades of industry experience creating quality gear and equipment for anglers. We applied this expertise to provide quality products specifically for carp anglers. The 8k Spinning Reel, INC-6000 Spinning Reel, and LS-6K Spinning Reel are just a few of our reels crafted for those who appreciate the nature of carp.
INSPIRED BY LIGHTWEIGHT
LITECAST® is Okuma new fishing reel technology. We use the magnesium material and a casting process to make the reel lighter but still strong. The LITECAST® structure reel is not only tough but also 15% lighter than the aluminum alloy reels. Okuma Hakai Low Profile Baitcast Reel and Cedros Saltwater Spinning Reel feature the new LITECAST® construction design, making anglers and fishermen’s fishing experience better.
